With completion of the new Annenberg Pavilion, the Critical Care Department will expand to 46 private patient rooms which will be fully equipped with the latest monitoring capabilities, state-of–the-art medication dispensing technologies, electronic charting and special amenities for the patient and the family.

Our Medical-Surgical ICU serves the critically ill who have cardiac, pulmonary, neurologic, gastrointestinal and endocrine conditions. CCU cares for our unstable cardiac population, specifically those with acute myocardial infarctions, cardiogenic shock and congestive heart failure. Our CSU serves the thoracic surgical patients which are recovered in the room at a 1:1 ratio. State-of-the-art equipment with continuous CO/SvO2 monitoring and digital radiographic imaging provide our staff with ongoing access to patient data and information.

Nursing care in these units is augmented with our Respiratory Therapy staff and 24/7 monitor technician support staff. We have an all-RN staff with 1:1 and 2:1 staffing ratios, self-scheduling and 12-hour shifts. We have an active and progressive orientation program for both intensive and cardiac surgical care. Our preceptors, CNS, physician support and involvement, and the opportunity to learn the newest research-based practices, make this a truly exciting and challenging environment.
