Acute Inpatient Care
Eisenhower Medical Center is dedicated to providing excellent rehabilitation services and education, which will enhance the ability of our patients to participate in the community.
The Acute Inpatient Care area uses a multidisciplinary teamwork approach to provide patients with comprehensive therapy services in the hospital and the Inpatient Rehabilitation Center. Physical, Occupational and Speech therapists employ the latest evidence-based treatment and procedures to achieve the most optimal patient care outcomes.
Therapists holding specialty certifications including Certified Stroke Rehab Specialists (CSCR), Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS), Certified Hand Therapists (CHT), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) and Certified Vestibular Rehabilitation (CVR) therapists assure Eisenhower Medical Center's services are the highest quality and utilized the latest evidence-based approaches in the care of the patient.
Each patient is evaluated and, based on their identified goals, activity levels, and functional limitations, an individualized treatment plan is established to reach the highest functional level possible. Both the patient and their family will learn to manage, minimize, or eliminate impairments that affect:
- Cognitive Skills
- Other activities of daily living (ADL's)
Inpatient care focuses on Eisenhower Medical Center's four centers of excellence:
While the goal is to discharge the patient to their living situation prior to admission to the acute care hospital, each patient will be assessed and recommendations will be made as to the appropriate discharge environment. If needed, patients will be recommended to Eisenhower Medical Center's Inpatient Rehabilitation Center where they will continue to receive the highest quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care possible.
