Eisenhower believes in specialized care for the neurologically impaired patient. Neurological conditions affect each patient individually with a wide range of presenting symptoms. With outcome goals of returning the patient to the highest level of function possible, each neurological patient is evaluated and set up on a treatment program to address their unique needs.
A comprehensive team of physical, occupational and speech therapists experienced in working with stroke, head injuries, MS, Parkinson’s and other neurological movement disorders provide progressive functional rehabilitation.
Multiple treatment approached are utilized including neurodevelopmental (NDT) therapy and proprioceptive neurological facilitation (PNF) for adult and pediatric neurological conditions. Included is the Bioness® NESS L300™ advanced functional electrical stimulation foot drop system and evaluations for speech generating devices and cognitive memory rehabilitation.
The Neuroscience Program at Eisenhower is offered in the Dolores Hope Outpatient Care Center. A physician's prescription with a diagnosis is required. An initial appointment can be made by calling or walking in to the department. If faxing the prescription, please include the patient's telephone number so that an appointment may be scheduled. Following the initial evaluation by a licensed therapist, additional appointments will be made based on medical necessity. Treatment here at Eisenhower Medical Center's Rehabilitation Services Department is covered by most insurances.
