A native Californian, Dr. Strohm graduated cum laude from Santa Clara University in 1974 and received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1978. Dr. Strohm began her teaching career in 1983 as a community preceptor in the University of Southern California’s affiliated family medicine residencies and in teaching first year medical students about the doctor-patient relationship and interviewing skills. From 1995 to 2009, she served as Residency Director for the USC/California Hospital Family Medicine Residency program, developing a highly acclaimed Maternity and Child Health Development fellowship for family physicians. During these years, she also completed 17 marathons, and was the Medical Director for the Los Angeles Marathon in 2008 and 2009. Dr. Strohm is excited and honored to be part of the Eisenhower 365 Personalized Care Program.
“To be invited into the privacy of a patient’s life, health, worries - as well as dreams - is an extraordinary honor and a privilege to share,” says Dr. Strohm. “That is the foundation on which to build our partnership for health and wellness together – for the patient, the family, and ultimately our community. For me, being a family physician and working with patients and families is about growth and healing for all of us. With the depth of that respect, I can best serve as a consultant to a patient who is actively engaged and committed to their own best care.”
