  • Lunch & Learn: Sentinal Lymph Node Biopsy

  • The Lunch & Learn: Sentinal Lymph Node Biopsy will be held at the Lucy Curci Cancer Center on Wednesday, January 18 2012 from 12:00PM to 01:30PM.
  • According to the National Cancer Institute: A sentinel lymph node is the first lymph node(s) to which cancer cells are most likely to spread from a primary tumor. A sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) can be used to help determine the extent, or stage, of cancer in the body and because SLNBs involve less extensive surgery and the removal of fewer lymph nodes than standard lymph node surgery, the potential for adverse effects, or harm, is lower.

Please join the newest member of Eisenhower's cancer program, Dr. Evelyn "Lillian" Kachikwu, who is fellowship trained in Surgical Oncology, as she explains the importance of the sentinal lymph node biopsy procedure and what breast cancer patient's need to know.

    Lunch is included.
