Second Annual Community Heart Conference, February 5, 2005
Eisenhower Medical Center will take part in several events in February, National Heart Month, to raise awareness of the prevalence of heart disease in this country.

On February 3, Eisenhower Medical Center participates in National Go Red for Women Day, highlighting the growing problem of heart disease in women. Heart disease is now the number one killer of women in this country. Eisenhower encourages everyone to wear red on this special day.

On Saturday, February 4, the Eisenhower Smilow Heart Center partners with the AHA to host the third annual Community Heart Conference at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower. The event features cardiologists, physicians and health care professionals. The keynote speaker will be Carolyn Warner, an advocate of women’s heart issues and representative for WomenHeart.

Conference registration begins at 8 a.m., and lectures run from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Activities also include a health fair from noon to 1 p.m., featuring free health screenings. The event is free to the public. For more information, please call 760-837-8450, or visit www.emc.org.
