The Eisenhower Medical Center Diabetes Program sponsors the Desert Diabetes Club - the diabetes information resource for persons diagnosed with diabetes. The Club membership is comprised of individuals with diabetes mellitus (Type 1 and Type 2) and their family members, care-givers and friends.

The Eisenhower Medical Center Desert Diabetes Club holds meetings monthly in October, November, January February, April and May - as advised by postcard from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences on the hospital campus. Meeting content varies from round table discussions with members and a facilitator to lectures by physicians and diabetes educators from the Eisenhower Medical Center. Members receive vital information which allows the opportunity to take positive steps to ensure that life with diabetes is a full and vibrant one.

An annual event, Jim Cook Day of Hope for Diabetes®, is sponsored by the Club. The event is FREE and open to the public. Attendees have the opportunity to visit vendors and review products used in the support of those individuals living with diabetes. In addition, attendees are afforded the opportunity of attending lectures on many subjects about diabetes and the research efforts in progress to find a cure. During the event, FREE health screenings - done by professionals - for heart, feet, eye and A1c are available to all attendees.

Club Members will receive a FREE Lunch if they bring their dues current on or before the Jim Cook Day of Hope.
