The Tennity Emergency Department
Breaking New Ground

Harry M. Goldstein, Chairman of the Board for Eisenhower, expressed his gratitude to Mrs. Tennity. “In the early 1980s,Marilyn’s beloved late husband Bill oversaw the plans and the construction of the Autry Tower while serving as a Trustee and Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee. Now, over 20 years later, Marilyn and Bill are once again leaders in helping to provide the resources necessary to address another urgent need — a greatly expanded Tennity Emergency Department.”
Euthym Kontaxis, MD, Medical Director, Emergency Department, added his thoughts and thanked Mrs. Tennity for her generosity.“Mrs.Tennity really understands what we need, and she and her husband and so many of our family of donors stepped up to make a dream come true.”
Following the speakers, which included G. Aubrey Serfling, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eisenhower Medical Center, Mrs. Tennity addressed the assembled guests. “I would like to express my special thanks to Aubrey Serfling, who’s truly created a culture of excellence that made this possible today, and to Harry Goldstein and Dr. Kontaxis. Thank you all very much.”
The groundbreaking ceremony ended with a flurry of shovels, hardhats and dirt, and a reception for donors in the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower.
