EISENHOWER OPENS NEW CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
EISENHOWER NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE
This elite team of neurosurgical specialists envisioned a medical facility that would bring multiple disciplines together to provide comprehensive and integrated treatment options for patients with neurological disorders. According to Shahin Etebar, MD, the vision has become a reality. “There is no other Center like this in the Coachella Valley,” Dr. Etebar shares. “We are providing comprehensive services for patients who have a neurological disorder. From brain tumors to back pain, to stroke and Parkinson’s disease, the Institute can help treat them all. This is a model clinic.”
Eisenhower Neuroscience Institute — which uses a team approach to treat neurological disorders — offers a full range of programs including neurological surgery (performing both brain and spine surgery), neurology, neurointerventional radiology, neurotology, neuro-critical care, radiosurgery, pain management, the Philip and Carol Traub Parkinson’s Center, the Memory Assessment Center, rehabilitation, research and education, and a stroke center. Eisenhower has also dedicated 70 patient beds on the second floor of the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Pavilion (currently under construction) to the care of neurosurgery and neurological disorder patients, including a 12-bed Intensive Care Unit.
The Eisenhower Neuroscience Institute couldn’t be timelier or more needed says Louise White, Vice President, Patient Care Services, and Chief Nursing Officer. “It is rare that a community medical center can claim the surgical and neurological expertise that our physicians offer,” explains White. “We always had the various components of neuroscience, but until now, it hadn’t all been pulled together into one Center of Excellence. We are excited to offer a truly innovative and integrated team-oriented patient care approach.”
