Betty Ford Center Opens New Patient Entrance And Medical Facility

In January 2007, the Betty Ford Center underwent a period of selfstudy that included input from administration, staff and patients. This study set in motion plans for the Center to enhance patient services now and well into the future. One of the strongest recommendations in this Vision 2015 plan was to combine Admissions with Nursing.
An innovative plan was devised to connect Firestone Hall (the main entrance) with Ottenstein Hall (the medical building) and to create a new Admissions area in the new 6,500 square-foot space. Admissions and Nursing are combined in the New Patient Entrance.
Upon admission, patients will now have the benefit of comfortable and private interview rooms, a variety of waiting areas and a family lounge in one central location. Highlights of the interior design are glass walls overlooking courtyards and gardens, high ceilings and a floor plan that brings natural light into the interior space.
The admissions staff will enjoy an enhanced call center and new offices. Nursing staff will enjoy a facility that is designed purposefully for admissions evaluations, detox monitoring, daily medication calls, medication administration, and health education for patients.
With this new addition, the Betty Ford Center continues to serve as a beacon of hope and healing, and will welcome individuals and families for generations to come.
