With Eisenhower Medical Center since 1994,Dr. Jacome was the first physician in Riverside County to perform surgery using the da Vinci® S HD™ System in 2008, and to date has performed more than 250 robotic-assisted surgeries.“I did a laparoscopic hysterectomy.As time went on and we did more procedures and patient outcomes were good, da Vinci® Intuitive Surgical designated Eisenhower as a training center,” explains Dr. Jacome.
Eisenhower Medical Center is now one of 22 training centers across the United States and one of only two on the West Coast. “Physicians come from across the United States to study with us at Eisenhower, and in 2011, we want to expand the opportunities and keep teaching people from around the country,” says Dr. Jacome. “We also plan to launch a new research study and increase the number of procedures we are performing as well as have people from South America and Mexico come and learn new techniques.”
Dr. Jacome’s main area of interest is minimally invasive procedures, of which he has done close to 2,000.During his more than 15 years experience performing minimally invasive surgeries, he has presented in Rome, Italy at the World Congress of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and been published in The Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
