Chinese Medical Team Visits Eisenhower Medical Center

A team of esteemed medical doctors from China visited Eisenhower Medical Center July 22, while in the United States to attend a short-term training program in hospital administration.With the Chinese health care system currently undergoing significant reform, and the year 2005 being named “hospital management year,” Dr. Peter Huidong Pan, along with four colleagues, journeyed to the United States to pursue the specialized training program. California State University, Los Angeles, organized the program, and a medical diagnostic products company offered sponsorship. The visit and campus tour of Eisenhower was arranged by Dr. Catherine Levitt, a professor at California State University, Los Angeles, who had taught Dr. Pan while he was attaining his master’s degree in health care management. They have remained in contact ever since.

Dr. Pan commented after the Eisenhower visit, “We were so impressed by all aspects of your organization, especially by the healing environment that you provide to your community…your hospital is the nicest workplace I have ever seen. Truly, your warmth, attention to details, and professionalism are direct reflections on the quality of the whole hospital staff.” Dr. Pan is looking forward to returning for another visit someday, and hosting the management team of Eisenhower on a future trip to China to tour his hospital.
