Special Event Benefits the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center
On April 2, these organizations will host a fundraising event featuring an intimate conversation between Barbara Sinatra and Mary Hart. The event will be held in the Helene Galen Auditorium at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at Eisenhower.
The fund-raising event will begin at 10 a.m. with shuttle-provided tours of the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, followed by the special conversation between Barbara Sinatra and Mary Hart. A luncheon, catered by Spencer’s, will follow in the Annenberg Center dining room.
The non-profit Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center for Abused Children was founded in 1986 by Barbara and Frank Sinatra to meet the community’s need for a permanent facility that would respond to the destructive forces of child sexual abuse, and is dedicated to ensuring every child’s right to a normal, healthy and secure childhood. The organization provides individual, group and family therapy and special programs that address issues associated with children suffering the effects of child abuse and neglect, and who are at risk to be abused. Approximately 86 percent of children counseled are from families below the national poverty line of $23,050 annual income for a family of four. Fund-raising events help offset the costs of families who don’t have the ability to pay for the Center’s services.
