Assemblyman Benoit Presents
2006 Notable Nurse Awards
Capping a weeklong celebration that
honored National Nurses Week,
Assemblyman John Benoit, 64th
District, hosted a breakfast and presented
the 2006 Notable Nurse Awards,May 12, at
the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences
at Eisenhower. The nurses were selected by
a committee of their peers and came
together from the greater Coachella Valley
and beyond, for the breakfast awards
ceremony. The 64 specially recognized
nurses arrived from Eisenhower Medical
Center, Desert Regional Medical Center,
John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital,
Hemet Valley Medical Center and Visiting
Nurses Association/Palm Desert. Twenty of
the 64 nurses honored were from
Eisenhower Medical Center.
“As a former California Highway Patrol
Officer, I have had the opportunity to
meet more nurses than most people, and I
have a deep appreciation for what they
do,” explained Assemblyman John Benoit.
“There are so many ways this profession
touches the lives of so many people.”
Louise White, Chief Nursing Officer at
Eisenhower, was pleased with the
recognition for nurses. “Nurses are at the
center of health care and are leaders in our
community. They are also the trainers for
the next generation of nurses.”
