Eisenhower Cardiologist Honored Nationally

“Dr. Shaeffer has long been admired in the Coachella Valley for his commitment to improving the health of our community and for the leadership role he plays in events such as Eisenhower Smilow Heart Center’s Community Heart Conference and the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk,” says Mary Cline, Eisenhower’s Director of Service Line Business Development. “Dr. Shaeffer is truly dedicated to influencing health care policy on a national level,” adds Cline. “It is both timely and appropriate that his many contributions should be recognized by this prestigious national award from the American Heart Association.”
The highest advocacy award given by the AHA, the Volunteer Advocate of the Year award is given to the volunteer who has worked through public policy initiatives to improve the health, well-being and quality of life for the greatest number of people possible. Shaeffer was honored at a ceremony in Washington, DC, earlier this year.
