Shahin Etebar, MD
Assumes Role of President, Eisenhower Medical Staff
Elected by his peers, Shahin Etebar, MD will serve as President of the Medical Staff of Eisenhower Medical Center for a two-year term (2012 – 2013).
Dr. Etebar is a Board Certified Neurosurgeon specializing in the correction of spinal deformity and adult degenerative scoliosis, spinal reconstruction, diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders and tumors, and minimally invasive spinal surgery.
“Growing up, I was greatly influenced by my family physician, who became a life-long role model for me,” says Dr. Etebar. “He was very compassionate, very kind and totally dedicated to taking care of people. The relationship he had with his patients and how people treated him was always amazing to me. By the age of six, I knew I wanted to be a physician...just like him.”
After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Etebar earned a Master’s Degree in Physiology from Georgetown University. He returned to the University of California, Irvine to attend medical school where he completed both his internship and residency in General and Neurological Surgery. Dr. Etebar then completed a Fellowship in Reconstructive Spine Surgery at the University of Florida, Tampa General Hospital.
Dr. Etebar has chaired and facilitated numerous professional courses for neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons addressing surgical management of the spine, both locally and nationally.
