Telemetry Department

Eisenhower's Telemetry Departments serve a diverse patient population of cardiac and orthopedic surgery patients, CHF, AFIB, and post-surgical patients who require cardiac monitoring. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 with Nurse Assistants and Monitor Technician support on both shifts. All nurses are ACLS trained. Orientation is extensive and ongoing educational opportunities are provided.

Leadership Puts Quality Patient Care and Employee Satisfaction First

The Vascular Department is a progressive 31-bed telemetry/vascular intermediate unit with patients that are post-cardiac cath, carotid, endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass, aortic aneurysm repairs and patients on nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and 2B3A inhibitor drugs. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 on all shifts and all nurses are ACLS, basic arrhythmia and vascular-trained to pull sheaths. This team-oriented unit is energized by the fast-paced environment and for those who enjoy learning new technology. Self-scheduling supports your lifestyle on all of the telemetry units.

The Special Care Departments are adjacent inpatient telemetry units where care is given to patients with pre- and post-open heart surgeries. Also treated are those with preand post-invasive/non-invasive diagnostic cardiac work ups, unstable cardiac rhythms or status, and unstable lab values requiring telemetry monitoring. Both units work closely with the Emergency Department, Critical Care units (ICU/CCU/CSU), and also with Case Management in providing the appropriate post discharge plan.
