Surgical Treatment of Melanoma & Other Skin Cancer will be held at the at the Lucy Curci Cancer Center on Thursday, July 12 2012 from 05:30PM to 07:00PM.
Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. Each year, more than 68,000 Americans are diagnosed with melanoma, and another 48,000 are diagnosed with an early form of the disease that involves only the top layer of skin.
Surgery is the most common treatment for melanoma and other skin cancers.
Dr. Kachikwu, who specializes in surgical oncology, will discuss the many surgical options — including local excision, wide local excision, lymph node dissection and sentinel lymph node biopsy — for melanoma and other skin cancers.
