She views the “patient-physician” relationship as a partnership. “I am a big advocate for wellness, not just treating diseases and conditions. I have the knowledge and medical expertise to assist my patients with their decisions. I try to find out who my patients are as people. Some want me to tell them what to do, while others want me to advise them on their choices. My job is to try to determine what my patients need medically and what role they want me to take in their journey toward wellness,” states Dr. Montgomery.
