The goal of the Orthopedic/Sports Rehabilitation program at Eisenhower is the efficient restoration of the highest quality of life and functioning possible. Multiple modalities are employed including strengthening and range-of-motion exercises, balance and coordination training, functional mobility and gait training, and electrical/thermal modalities for edema and pain control.
Multiple treatment approaches are offered including Maitland, McKenzie, Cyriax, and Osteopathic approach, Certified Strength and Conditioning principles for athletic training and rehabilitation, strain-counterstrain, muscle energy, myofascial release, trigger point therapy and craniosacral therapy.
Eisenhower employs specially trained staff, many who are Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS) and/or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS), administer comprehensive programs designed for those with orthopedic or sports-related injuries.
The Orthopedic/Sports Rehabilitation Program at Eisenhower is offered in the Dolores Hope Outpatient Care Center the La Quinta Physical and Occupational Therapy Center and the Palm Springs Physical Therapy Center. A physician's prescription with a diagnosis is required. An initial appointment can be made by calling or walking in to the department. If faxing the prescription, please include the patient's telephone number so that an appointment may be scheduled. Following the initial evaluation by a licensed therapist, additional appointments will be made based on medical necessity. Treatment here at Eisenhower Medical Center's Rehabilitation Services Department is covered by most insurances.
