Holiday Voices Celebrates 40 years
The Governing Board of the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary will hold its annual Holiday Voices black tie fundraising event on Friday, December 4, 2009, at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage. Dolores Hope, former President and Chairman of the Eisenhower Board of Trustees, and Founder of the Eisenhower Auxiliary, will serve as Honorary Chair of the event, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Eisenhower Auxiliary.
Bob and Dolores Hope donated the 80 acres of land on which Eisenhower was originally built. But Dolores’ involvement began even earlier, in 1966, when she agreed to serve on the new hospital’s board. Dolores has played an active role with Eisenhower ever since, including serving as its Founding President and Chairman of the Board.
Every year at the annual gala, the Governing Board honors physicians who have exhibited outstanding patient care in their respective fields with the Eisenhower Distinguished Service Award. This year’s recipients are anesthesiologist John D. Jacobson, MD, and Eisenhower Section Chief for Neurology, Reza Nazemi, MD.
Entertainment will be provided by actress, comedienne and singer Kaye Ballard. Gala guests can the dance the night away to the strains of the Tony Rose Orchestra. The evening will also include a cash prize drawing, cocktails and dinner. For more information, please call Mary Smith at 760-773-1810.
The proceeds from the 2009 Holiday Voices Gala will help fund a wide variety of programs at Eisenhower.
