you can do right now as part of your wellness routine
1. Donate Platelets
Platelets take a little longer to donate than giving blood, but they are especially helpful to cancer patients. Contact your local donation center during January - National Blood Donor Month.
2. Welcome Change
It’s a brand new year. Embrace the possibilities.
3. Revisit Portion Size
Regretting a few mammoth meals from the holidays? Time to get back on track. Remind yourself of realistic food portions; for example, three ounces of meat is approximately the size of a deck of cards, four ounces of pasta is about the size of one scoop of ice cream, and one and one-half ounces of cheese is the size of a pair of dice.
4. Get Your Thyroid Checked
January is Thyroid Awareness Month. An underactive thyroid (hypothy-
roidism) ot an overactive (hyperthyroidism) could be the cause of a variety of health issues. Ask your doctor and get checked.
5. Turn Off The Tube
Most people watch about four hours of television daily. That is on top of eight hours of sitting at work. Limit television watching to favorite shows and get moving...!
