  • Sports Medicine For Student Athletes

    Student athletes at most of the desert’s high schools and its community college have some special talent on their side: highly trained orthopedic surgeons from Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center (EDOC) who have advanced expertise in sports medicine.

    “As team physicians we cover all home games at Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs and Desert Christian Academy high schools, as well as College of the Desert (COD), Palm Springs Power and Chill baseball, ANA Inspiration LPGA event and BNP Paribas Tennis Open,” explains Matthew Diltz, MD, a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in Sports Medicine. “We’re on the sidelines to evaluate any players who are injured during play,” he continues. “We also work with the schools’ athletic trainers on injury prevention and rehabilitation programs when someone’s injured. We can provide treatment when it’s necessary, and we offer team physicals to ensure kids are fit to play at the start of the season. read more...
